Celebrity Mediterranean Cruise May 2010
This spring in May, Donna and Jim from Fox Travel American Express, escorted over 50 passengers on the Celebrity EQUINOX for an official American Express Mariner Club cruise in the eastern Mediterranean from Rome. French Luxury River Cruise July 25-August 1
Well, the sun gods smiled on southern France all week long as our boat load of happy cruisers sailed on Viking River cruises Viking NEPTUNE from Chalon-Sur-Saone (north of Lyon) to Avignon with the Mediterranean nearby. Scenes on the Saone and Rhone rivers earned picture post card status for perfect Kodak moments along the way.
Several couples tagged on a visit to Paris before the cruise or a French Riviera tour to Nice and Monaco afterwards. Many cruisers had visited France before but few had ventured south through the heart of Burgundy/Beaujolais country to the Provence region and the Med.
The weather was perfect for our week-long voyage, which combined a guided tour or winery visit daily usually in the morning coupled with a beautiful afternoon of sun worshiping on the huge 400 foot top deck on the Viking NEPTUNE, a 75 cabin luxury cruise vessel designed for river navigation on Europe’s waterways. Of course, while in southern France, wonderful wine enhanced the sunny cruise which also included regional selections at all gourmet meals served on board. Evenings included several walking tours on shore plus night life in Lyon, Macon and Viviers, a carefully preserved medieval village south of Lyon.

In 2010, Owners Donna Daniels and Jim Bailey, visited Costa Rica again. We visited San Jose, the rain forests near Limon and Siquerres, the beaches in the Guanacaste region including Hermosa and CoCo beaches, Liberia, Arenal Volcanco park as well as Jaco, a popular beach town southwest of San Jose on the Pacific coast.
We rented a car for our visit, drove all over the country and visited hotel properties including Occidental, Marriott Resorts, Four Seasons and others throughout the country.
