Day 3: Sunday, April 29, 2012
San Francisco - Muir Woods - Sonoma - Santa Rosa
Travel north to the coastal redwood forest of Muir Woods National Monument

• Stroll through 1,000-year-old giant trees that can reach 260 feet

• Arrive in Sonoma and tour the Viansa Winery

• Follow this with a “Tuscan” wine and food pairing with an experienced wine specialist.

Day 4: Monday, April 30, 2012
Santa Rosa - Napa Valley - Santa Rosa
Arrive at the Napa Valley Station for a wine symposium and tasting

• Ride the Napa Valley Wine Train

• Enjoy lunch aboard while viewing the vineyards from a restored 1915 Pullman car

• Complete your visit with wine’s most favored pairing – cheese

• Visit an artisanal cheese maker and sample local varieties.

Day 5: Tuesday, May 01, 2012
Santa Rosa - Bodega Bay - Santa Rosa
Visit the Kendall Jackson Wine Center

• Tour the winery and learn the process of winemaking from one of the staff at this world-famous wine center

• Experience a tasting before taking some time in the manicured gardens

• Head for the home of Korbel, the most well-known champagne maker in the United States

• Learn about production methods and taste select champagnes

• Travel along the rugged California coast to the fishing village of Bodega Bay, made famous in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”

• Wind down as you return to your hotel

• Travel through Sonoma Valley’s picturesque landscape

• Visit a local restaurant that features locally sourced ingredients.

Day 6: Wednesday, May 02, 2012

Stop at Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery, Sonoma’s most complete “wine sensory experience”

• Partake in a tasting and judge for yourself which one suits your palate

• Visit Sonoma and enjoy free time in Sonoma Plaza, a National Historic Landmark framed with adobe buildings

• Complete your wine country exploration with an elegant dinner at an award-winning restaurant

• Due to tour scheduling, return flights should be booked after 10:30 AM. Wineries, farm stands and other inclusions may be closed for private functions or production reasons on certain days throughout the year. If one of the listed wineries or inclusions is not available, a different one will be visited in its place. The days and order of sightseeing may change to best utilize your time on tour. *Vendors and tasting items included on the San Francisco food tour are subject to change. Smaller buses, which may not be lavatory equipped, may be used on this program. In this case, frequent stops are made during travel periods.

• To complete your vacation, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing Explorations airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.

• Explorations air passengers will depart from the San Francisco airport. All Explorations transfers will depart from Santa Rosa for the San Francisco airport. All passengers arranging their own air are highly advised to purchase return transfers from Explorations, as the tour ends in Santa Rosa.

• Due to tour scheduling, flights on the first day should arrive no later than 4:00 PM.

• This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.
